Hey there!
Some academics seem to focus on teaching and unfortunately “the system” does not seem to reward them as much as if they were focused on research and collecting large grants. One thing I have observed is that those who are successful seem to juggle multiple research projects effortlessly. They also seem to have a certain confidence which allows them to write efficiently and not agonise over editing their work. In many ways I am at the beginning of my academic career as I am a PhD student. On the other hand I have been teaching in university Enabling Programs for almost 10 years. I am slowly building a publication record to be proud of and slowly learning how to juggle projects and write with that effortless efficiency.
I started this page to share my thoughts, for self-reflection and a platform to vent if needed! I doubt it will ever get a large following, but perhaps I can help one person on their journey. Perhaps I can be somewhat of a guide or a role model in some small way. If you have any interest at all in higher education, equity, the PhD journey, Enabling Education or juggling multiple research projects then I invite you to read my blog.

About Me
Hi, I’m Ana. I teach in an enabling program in Queensland, Australia. Most of the students I teach are marginalised in some way, perhaps socio-economic status, regional or remote, Indigenous Australians or students with a disability. Succeeding in the enabling program is their second chance, sometimes their last chance, to get into a university degree. I completed an enabling program myself back in 2010. Since then I have completed a Bachelor of Arts and honours. I am now a PhD student juggling part time work and a number of research projects. This site is my opportunity to share my journey and hopefully inspire others.
